All candy is produced in small batches using a Harvest Right home freeze dryer.
Every batch is prepared, freeze-dried, and packaged with care from a home in Ohio.
The following precautions are taken during every step of the process:
- Surfaces and utensils used in preparation, freeze-drying, and packaging are cleaned and sanitized
- Candy is prepared and packaged using food-safe gloves
- Candy is prepared, freeze-dried, and packaged in a room with an air purifier
- Candy is prepared, freeze-dried, and packaged in a room with a dehumidifier (this reduces the candy's exposure to natural moisture in the air)
- Candy is packaged immediately after the batch is finished (this reduces the candy's exposure to natural moisture in the air)
- Candy is impulse-sealed in high-quality Mylar bags
The Ohio Department of Agriculture's Division of Food Safety has determined that freeze-dried candy may be sold as a cottage food.
